The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a one-day postponement of its House of Representatives primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections, while all other dates in its primary timetable remain intact.

The ruling party disclosed the adjustment in a statement issued Thursday by National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, emphasising that the change was limited strictly to the lower chamber primary.

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) announces the postponement of the House of Representatives Primary Election for the 2027 General Elections to Saturday, 16th May, 2026,” the statement read.

All other scheduled primaries will proceed as previously announced. The Senate primary is set for Monday, May 18, followed by the State House of Assembly primary on Wednesday, May 20. The governorship primary is slated for Thursday, May 21, with the presidential primary closing out the exercise on Saturday, May 23.

The clarification came in response to circulating reports that the party had made sweeping changes to its primary schedule, claims the APC flatly denied. The party maintained that no further adjustments had been made beyond the single-day shift affecting the House of Representatives primary.
