The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has named Francis Joseph Olusegun, a graduate of Mathematics, its overall best graduating student for the 2025/2026 academic session, with a CGPA of 5.00.
The university announced this in a graphic posted on its official channels as part of its 41st convocation ceremonies. The graphic lists Olusegun’s department as Mathematics and his faculty as Physical Sciences.
A CGPA of 5.00 is a perfect score if, as is usual at Nigerian universities, the scale tops out at 5.0.
The announcement comes as the university holds its 41st convocation, which Vice-Chancellor Prof. Wahab Egbewole said would graduate 16,152 students, including 365 first-class graduates.
