Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, has received a clean bill of health from the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Screening Committee, clearing him to contest the party’s governorship primaries.
Hamzat, who appeared before the committee in Abuja, expressed gratitude for his clearance, describing the development as a significant step forward in his political journey.
“This journey is about service and a commitment to all Lagosians,” he said. “We have built a solid foundation and now we are ready to take the next step toward a greater and more inclusive Lagos.” through a post on his X handle.
The deputy governor, who has served under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, signalled his readiness to push forward with his gubernatorial ambition, assuring supporters that the work continues.
His clearance positions him as a strong contender in the APC primaries, as the party begins the process of selecting its flagbearer for the Lagos State governorship election.
