Ademola Lookman recorded the 50th assist of his senior club career as Atletico Madrid drew 1-1 with Stuttgart in the UEFA Champions League.

The Super Eagles forward was introduced at half-time with Atletico a goal down. Just 80 seconds into the second half, he set up Julian Alvarez, who finished to level the score. It was Alvarez’s first goal of the season, coming after a summer in which he was linked with a move to Barcelona. According to Transfermarkt, Lookman now has 50 assists in senior club football.

Stuttgart had gone ahead in the 36th minute, when Jamie Leweling fired a low shot from the edge of the box.

Atletico’s task got harder in the 64th minute, when midfielder Morten Hjulmand was sent off for a reckless challenge on Angelo Stiller. Even with 10 men, they held on for a point. Stuttgart defender Jeff Chabot had a late chance to win it but headed wide from a Maximilian Mittelstadt corner.
