President Bola Tinubu on Thursday administered the oath of office to four newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the State House in Abuja.
The short ceremony was held just before the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting commenced. All appointees were sworn in together and subsequently signed the official register.
The newly inaugurated Permanent Secretaries are Mrs. Warrens Bekearedebo Augusta (Bayelsa), Dr. Ayinde Shoretire (Ogun), Mallam Aminu Sani Yargaya (Kano), and Mrs. Nkiruka Bella Jones-Nebo (Enugu).
Also sworn in was Rear Admiral Jamila Abubakar Sadiq Malafa (rtd), who takes on the role of INEC National Commissioner representing Adamawa State.
The event was coordinated by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Media and Publicity at the State House, and drew attendance from senior government officials and FEC members.
Notable attendees included Vice President Kashim Shettima; Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume; National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu; and Head of the Civil Service, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack.
Several cabinet ministers were also present, including Finance Minister Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, Budget and Economic Planning Minister Senator Atiku Bagudu, and Housing Minister Arc. Muttaqa Rabe Darma, among others.
