Nollywood and Fuji music heavyweights have landed prominent roles in the All Progressives Congress Lagos State Campaign Council, with veteran actor Jide Kosoko, actresses Eniola Badmus, Toyin Abraham and Bimbo Akintola, and Fuji stars Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere and Adewale Ayuba all named to the council’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
The appointments come from the full campaign council list released Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre, ahead of the council’s inauguration on Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
Directorate Leadership
Toke Benson-Awoyinka has been named Director of the entertainment directorate, with Jide Kosoko serving as Co-Director and Eniola Badmus as Deputy Director. Akeem Alimi better known as Ajala Jalingo takes the Secretary role, with Dare Olateju as Assistant Secretary.
Yoruba Film Industry Well Represented
The directorate draws heavily from Nollywood’s Yoruba-language film sector, pulling in veteran actor Oga Bello (Adebayo Salami), alongside Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri and Tayo Sobola.
Fuji Music’s Biggest Names Join the List
Fuji music is equally prominent on the roster, with Pasuma, Obesere and Ayuba joined by Sulaimon Alao Adekunle (Malaika), Akorede Babatunde Okunola (Osupa) and Temitope Adekunle (Small Doctor) – an afro-pop recording artist.
The Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate is just one arm of the broader campaign council, which is chaired by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, with Kadri Obafemi Hamzat serving as Deputy Chairman.
