The Nigerian military says an air strike has killed 15 Boko Haram terrorists along the Bitta-Dutse axis in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, and that ground troops recovered several AK-47 rifles in follow-up operations.

According to the military, the strike was carried out at about 11:50 p.m. on October 23, 2026, after intelligence reports and confirmed sightings of suspected terrorist movements around Pulka.

Operation Hadin Kai’s Acting Media Information Officer, Capt. Mohammed Goni, gave the details in a statement issued in Maiduguri on Sunday.

He said ground troops then moved into the area to consolidate the gains of the air operation and disrupt remaining terrorist elements.

Goni said the operation showed the effectiveness of intelligence-led targeting and coordinated military action in weakening terrorist capabilities. He added that the strike was part of sustained offensive operations meant to restrict terrorist movements and prevent attacks on communities across the North-East.

The Theatre Command reaffirmed its commitment to fighting the insurgency, protecting civilians and restoring normalcy in affected communities.

It also asked residents to support security agencies with timely and credible information on suspicious movements and activities, describing public cooperation as essential to lasting peace in the region.
